everytime i hear the tags clanking together everything melts away around me and i remember who they represent.

everytime i feel the key around my neck i remember who it came from.

everytime i look at the 4 holes i now i have in my ears i remember who talked me into it; who told me to live for me. and then i remember who has the 5th one.

everytime i look at the upside down hearts on my thumb i remember who put them that way.

and everytime i look at my left hand ring finger i think back to nicholas sparks and remember why i fell in love with him in the first place.

it’s the little things that make loving him easy. others have said “i don’t know how you do it” cause things have been rough but as carrie underwood says, “when you figure out that love is all that matters after all it sure makes everything else seem so small.” i’m happy - as much as i may vent and rant and rave, i’m happy.
